Rescue Training Philippines, December 2011
Organized by the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) of the Philippines, a first professional rescue training was organized in Manila in mid December 2011. This first training on a national platform kicks off a serious of such trainings with the aim to develop a national standard for rescue training for the Philippines, and to develop trainers for the future.
A major part of this training, spanning almost two weeks altogether, was a 3-day section devoted to rescue in traffic accidents. The first day comprised theory with presentations on specially tailored fitness programmes for rescuers, medical rescue, standard deployment rules, modern car technology and extrication techniques with hydraulic rescue tools. All these were proudly covered by WEBER Rescue Systems with their local partners Alrob Rescue Systems, Altfit and Desar.
The next two days were hands-on training sessions in which trainees learned first hand approaches to medical rescue, vehicle securing and stabilization and various extrication techniques, as well as glass and battery management.
The training was deemed a big success and OCD awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to WEBER Rescue Systems and their partners. Further training sessions as well as work on national rescue training guide lines are in progress.

National Rescue Championships in Portugal
From November, 17th – 19th 2011 the first national rescue championships took place in „Regimento de Sapadores Bombeiros Lissabon”.
20 teams from allover Portugal, six of them equipped with Weber rescue systems, took part in this competition.
The first an third place went to teams that worked with Weber tools. A big success that shows the high class quality of our products.
